"First, you would forget his chin, and then his nose, and after a while, you would struggle to remember the exact color of his eyes, and one day you wake up and, poof, he's gone: His voice, his smell, his face. He will have left you. And then you can begin again."
-Luc, French Kiss (1995)
This quote is mostly just a reminder to me, but if it applies to you, take it.
This may come as a shock to you, but I'm stubborn. If you didn't already know that then you don't know me.
Everytime something bad or challenging happens, someone tells me "Life goes on," or "This too shall pass." By now, you think I'd believe them, but I don't. Hence the stubbornness. But, you know what, they're right. Life ALWAYS goes on. When will I ever learn that?
For 2013 I'm going to work on knowing this: When something goes wrong, it's not the end of the world. Sure, it'll be tough for a while, until the trial is over. But know, that it will pass and life will go on. All the people that cause problems in my life aren't worth being in my life anyway. The ones who stick around despite all my imperfections are the ones who are worth it.
Boy, you aren't worth it. And I know that...most days. I still have days where I miss you. I shouldn't, but I do. Eventually there will come a day when I'll wake up and, poof, you'll be gone. That day hasn't come yet. But I know it will. Because I know life goes on.
Let's end with a picture.
Look, I'm happy :)
